Science Lab
NMF makes extensive use of its in-house laboratory
in connection with product development and
testing. More than 15 different machines can test
everything from wash tests, friction tests,
absorption tests, and fabric strength tests to
autoclave cycles, etc.All to thoroughly test and
quality-assure newly developed products.
Bacteria test
In the laboratory, products are tested under
bacterial conditions in a secured and restricted
area.
This makes it possible to provide documentation
on the collection rate of different bacteria, as
well as how quickly they break down in the
product.

Ecolabelled products are available for download.
An autoclave is a specially developed device
for sterilizing equipment. By exposing the
equipment to saturated steam at a
temperature of 121°C and a pressure of
approximately two bar for 30 minutes, the
equipment is sterilized.
Autoclaves are widely used in the healthcare
industry. Product information specifies which
NMF products are autoclavable and include an
associated autoclave test report.
Washing test
Our most frequently used machine is the
Electrolux (W5105H) industrial washing machine,
which is used for wash tests to ensure that the
product withstands the specified number of
washes under the toughest washing conditions.
The same detergent is used each time to
guarantee consistent test results.
Detergent used: Diversey ClaxProfi 36A1, pH 11.
